The training Centre provides various programmes for interested parties and stakeholders in the Marine and Fishing Industry.
Educational Programmes for schools, Universities, Colleges and general.
Who is it for: All pupils and students, starting from primary school.
With these programmes, our Training Centre tries to teach local pupils and students about the importance of fishing in the local area. The programmes raise awareness for the problems and challenges facing the fishing industry, promote fishing and marine careers, and give some basic theory instruction.

Fishing Industry Field Course
Who is it for: This course is offered to external agencies, marine science institutions, key stakeholders within marine related industries and public bodies involved with fisheries management.
This Field Course is developed to raise awareness for and address issues concerning the marine environment and resource management as seen by the industry itself. Trough this course, the MMTC endeavours to raise awareness of the marine environment being a key economic, social and historical asset for the local communities.

Fishing For the Future
Mallaig Marine Training Centre offers its resources as a local centre to keep fishermen informed and to involve them in initiatives geared towards better resource management.
The following activities will be involved:
- Work together with the fishing industry towards a more positive outlook on the industry and development of a more sustainable and responsible industry.
- Development and output of seminars in which fishermen will be advised and informed about existing and upcoming initiatives regarding sustainable resource management.
- Keeping the public informed with regard to involvement of fishermen in these initiatives.
- Act as a general advisory and resource centre.
