RYA Level 2 Powerboat (ILA Funding Available)

This course provides you with the skills and background knowledge needed by the competent powerboat driver and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence generally required overseas. No Prior knowledge required.

RYA Intermediate Powerboat (ILA Funding Available)
Duration: 2 Days
This course teaches power boating up to the standard required to complete a short coastal passage by day. It covers practical use of pilotage and passage planning by day on coastal waters, using both traditional and electronic navigation techniques. Candidates must be competent to RYA level 2 power boat certificate with coastal endorsement. It is strongly recommended that candidates hold a first aid certificate and a VHF operator’s certificate.

RYA Advanced Powerboat (ILA Funding Available)
Duration: 2 Days
The course provides the background knowledge needed by powerboat drivers operating by day and night in known or familiar waters, the skipper’s role and boat handling in more demanding conditions. It is assumed that candidates are competent to standard RYA intermediate certificate with thorough knowledge of navigation and chart work to the level of day Skipper Shore based certificate. You are required to hold a first aid certificate and a VHF operator’s certificate. With the addition of a commercial endorsement this certificate allows you to carry 12 fee paying passengers 20 miles from a save haven.

The ICC is required by certain countries for certain categories of pleasure boats. It is also useful in countries where compulsory certificates are required of national simply because officials expect to see such a certificate.
We are an RYA approved Test centre for ICC tests. Anyone wishing to undertake an ICC test can do this test in their own boat.

Watch Leader Practical Course
Duration: 5 Days
This course will teach the duties and responsibilities of a watchleader, including safety, seamanship, navigation and collision avoidance.
Suggested Experience: 5 days, 100 miles, 4 night hours.
Assumed Knowledge: Basic navigation and sailing ability.
